My Very First Blog Award

Guess what?  This morning I received my very first blog award, The Versatile Blogger from Bren over at Four-Legged Mom! Please go check out Bren's blog, it's one of my favorite daily reads.  Bren and I just realized today while chatting via twitter that we live in neighboring towns and she works less then a mile from where I live.  That just shows you how small of a world we really live in!

Anyways, here are the rules of the award.

1.  Thank the person who shared the award with you by linking back to them in your post.
2.  Pass this award to 15 recently discovered blogs and let them know that you included them in your blog post.
3.  List 7 things about yourself.

The blogs I am going to pass this on to are:

Julie @ Simply Me
(Mandy & Julie followed my old blog and I kept in touch with them both thanks to Twitter & Facebook during my blogging hiatus.  I've watched both of their families grow and they were "with" me through my pregnancy and the birth of Cecilia.)

Wild Rice For All Seasons

Please go visit their blogs! I promise you won't be disappointed! :)

Seven Random Facts about Myself....
1. Clowns scare me. I will not allow a clown anything in our house.
2. I have seen Kenny Chesney in concert at least 15 times.  My first concert of his was in 1997 and I've seen him almost every year since, sometimes twice a year. He puts on a great show and each year it gets better and better! Here's my friend, Melanie, me and my sister in law, Tammy at his concert this year at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly.

3. I love to plan events.  If I could, I would quit my job and become a full time event planner and plan weddings and parties for a living.  I am planning a very important party right now, but I can't give too many details away just in case someone is reading. You will find out soon enough.
4. I dislike the words, panties and moist.  Those are two words you will never hear me say.
5. I need seven to eight hours of sleep a night.  If I don't I am not a nice person the next day.  I don't know how I survived the first year of Cecilia's life, because she didn't sleep through the night for a full solid week until she 13 months old.
6. I am a US History buff, I could spend hours watching documentaries on The History Channel especially anything about the Revolution and Civil War.
 7. I don't like peanut butter unless it's paired with chocolate (Reese Cups). I never liked peanut butter and jelly sandwiches even as a kid.  Daniel hates peanut butter too. Cecilia loves it, imagine that? She eats PB&Js at daycare any chance she gets.

We Want To Know Wednesday: 09/21

Happy Wednesday! Happy Hump Day! Whatever you want to call it.  I am back at work today and I am swamped after being off yesterday.  I did want to take five quick minutes and participate in Mamarazzi’s and Queso’s We Want To Know Wednesday.

This week they want to know about our tv watching habits (YIKES!)

{1} What is your MUST SEE show?

I talked about it yesterday, I have so many favorite tv shows.  It’s hard to pick one, but I had to say just one it would be Glee! Although the season primiere was a huge disappointment for me last night!

{2} What shows are you most excited to watch this season?
Where do I begin? Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a half Men (loved Ashton this week!) and two new ones, Two Broke Girls & The New Girl!

{3} How many hours a week do you actually watch TV?
Wow..during the summer, not much. I watch Big Brother and whatever Real Housewives or Kardashian show happens to be on. But come fall, probably between 5 and 10 hours (that includes football on Sunday!)

{4} Do you think TV has gotten too "racy" (vulgar, pushing the limit, etc) ?
The way I look at it, if you don’t like it, don’t watch it! Same goes for your kids, monitor what they watch! My parents had a setting on their Direct TV box where I was not allowed to watch anything higher then  PG-13 rating.  That meant no MTV, no South Park or The Simpsons. I was not the cool kid.

{5} How many TVs do you have in your house?
2.  One in our “family room/man cave” and one in our bedroom.  Hubby wants a bigger TV, he says our 42” isn’t big enough. Maybe for Christmas we’ll get a bigger one.  I said maybe.   So the 42 inch will get moved to our living room which currently has no furniture or TV and the new 55 or whatever size he gets will be in the family room/man cave.

Wordless Wednesday

This is a picture I took on Saturday night at my cousin's wedding reception. It's Cecilia and my best friend, Denise's daughter, Skylar.  Denise and I have been best friends since 6th grade and I hope our two girls are just as close. By the looks of this picture they already are.

Talk To Us Tuesday: 09/20/11

This is my first time participating in Talk To Us Tuesday with Impulsive Addict and Shawn. This post can be about anything, there are no rules. Love it!

So today I am home from work and home with a sick little one.  She was up four times last night which is very unusual for her.  She is running a low grade fever and is not herself.  I am hoping whatever is in her system will go away very soon. I want my happy toddler back!

This weekend we are supposed to be going to an amusement park with some friends and their two gorgeous daughters.  We were going to make it an overnight trip since our destination is a little over two and a half hours away. Well now our friends want to go there and go back and so the hubs thinks we should do the same.  Really? I was looking forward to a night away.  Hubs looked online and he said the cheapest decent hotel he can find is $200 a night.  He just isn't looking in the right places, I swear by websites like Hotwire and Priceline. They have never disappointed.   Unfortuantely in order to even "look" at one of these sites you have to enter your credit card information. Please send good vibes my way, I am hoping I can talk the hubs into staying over night.   {Side note, my best friend from high school  lives fifteen minutes away from where we are going so if we go over night maybe we can do dinner with her and her new fiance! We had a huge falling out while I was pregnant with Ci and we haven't seen each other since.  I haven't even met her fiance yet.  We made up about a year ago, but we haven't had the chance to see one another.}

I am going to do a giveaway once my blog hits 50 followers, I am only at 9 so I have a long ways to go! Any advice on how to get more readers?

I know I need to do a custom deisgn for my blog, but I am not tech savy! Who did your custom blog design and button?

We are have a photo session with the amazing, Ashely from I Love You More Then Carrots the first weekend of Novemeber.  I cannot wait! Ashley is extremely talented and the last time we had a custom photo session was when Cecilia was 6 months old. So needless to say it is long over due!

Well that's it for this weeks Talk To Us Tuesday.  I am going to go cuddle with my girl before she lays down for a nap. Be sure to link up with Impulsive Addict and Shawn!

Another One Bites The Dust...

I kid with my blog title, but the long running joke in our family was that my cousin, John would never get married.  He's not by any means old {he's a young 33} and he is no stranger to long term relationships {he has been engaged three times}.  It is true what they say third time is the charm.  In 2008, John started dating Amy and I knew she was the one from the moment I met her {or re-met her, I knew Amy when we were younger, but we hadn't seen one another in 18 or so years} that she was the one for John.

Neither John or Amy are the traditional type. They didn't want a big wedding so they decided to get married at the Polynesian Resort in Disney World.  Their wedding was a week and a half ago on September 9th and when they returned they had a reception.  Unlike your normal wedding reception John and Amy requested everyone dress casual {like I said they are far from traditional}.  So we followed the invitation and dressed down, we also brought Cecilia. We usually would have her stay with a sitter, but John and Amy wanted it to be a family event.

John and Amy had brought Cecilia back Minnie Mouse {shocker!} clips from Disney World.  I attempted to put them in her hair, but they wouldn't stay in.

When we walked into the tent I loved all of the details Amy and Mitchell put into their wedding reception.

My mom made the confetti in Mickey Mouse shapes and the table numbers (I wish that creative gene was passed down to me!)

Here's my cousin Lesley signing the signature mat which has a picture of John and Amy from their wedding in Florida.

I love where Cecilia "signed" her name AKA mommy held her hand and guided it to write Cecilia.

Even though they didn't want it to be traditional they still had traditional compenents of a wedding reception

I was able to spend some time with my bff of 17 years!  Her husband and John were good friends in school.  Anytime Denise and I hang out we have fun!

2 on Tuesday: 09/20/11

Happy Tuesday!  Who looks forward to Tuesdays?  Me! Why well for two reasons actually, I get to go to my Bootcamp class AND it's one of my new favorite weekly blog hops, 2 on Tuesday!

This week's questions are (there's two!)

Many fall shows are starting up again this week. What two shows are you most looking forward to?
AND/OR
What two cleaning products make your life easier?

So first question first!

Many fall shows are starting up again this week. What two shows are you most looking forward to?

Hi, my name is Mindy and I am a gleek (a fan of the show, Glee!),  The hubs and I have been fans since that preview they gave of Glee way back in May of 2009 after American Idol.  They showed one episode, but hubs and I were hooked.  We had to wait until the following September to see more.   I can't sing (or dance), but each week I live vicariously through the Glee characters!

Daniel would kill me if he knew I put on the internet for the world to see that he watches Glee!  So let's keep it our little secret!

The second show I cannot wait to season premiere is tomorrow night (Wednesday)

Once again, Daniel and I have been fan of Modern Family since it's premiere two seasons ago! We love it (and apparently so does the Emmy voters, Modern family cleaned up at the Emmy's on Sunday)! I am a huge fan of Julie Bowen's (who happens to be a fellow Marylander) and I have been since her days on Ed.  Modern Family's writers are genuis and every episode gets better and better!

In a close third and fourth is The Big Bang Theory and uh...The Bachelor (yes, I watch that reality tv trash!)

And for the second question this week:

What two cleaning products make your life easier?

The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is a life saver, especially with a Toddler!  It can seriously clean up anything, hand marks on a wall, spaghetti o's on your baseboard.  It is amazing! I love it!

And number 2 goes to..

Method Antibacterial Cleaner.  I really would put the whole method line here if I could.  I absolutley LOVE Method products, they work great, they are green and are safe to use around your kiddies and pets.  My favorite scent is the orange zest. You can buy Method cleaners at your local Target.

So what two tv shows are you looking forward to watching AND what are your two favorite cleaning products? Link up on 2 on Tuesday at My Chihuahua Bites.
